Charnos Hosiery has been awarded the AIS Supplier of The Year Award, 2011.
Associated Independent Stores, (AIS), is the largest independent, non-food buying group of its kind in the UK.
AIS has a membership of 270 independent department store and specialist retailers operating 611 outlets across the UK, Ireland and Channel Islands.
The annual award is voted for by AIS members, with the criteria being qualitative rather than financial, with a focus on customer service, speed and accuracy of deliveries, and product innovation.
AIS ladieswear controller Bernadette West said: “We are delighted that the Charnos brand has won the 2011 award. It is a tribute to the passion and commitment that the whole team brings to the Charnos brand and has undoubtedly been a major factor in the success of the label.”
Melas Group managing director John Roskalns added: “This is a great tribute to the Charnos team and we are honored to win this award from AIS, who we have enjoyed working with for many years. At Charnos we strive to deliver innovative and quality products and are proud of the Charnos team who uphold these values.
“Working with AIS has allowed a wide number of independent retailers to join in our success. This award is particularly special as we know it was voted for by those retailers who sell Charnos hosiery to the public every day, so thank you to them. It is also rather special that it was presented at the end of our 75th. Year celebrations. ”
