A Canadian sleepwear brand that has found a solution to a health crisis affecting more than half of all women is eyeing UK expansion.
Lusomé has spent the last two years developing a revolutionary collection designed to stamp out night sweats caused by pregnancy, the menopause, medical treatments and chronic conditions.
The brand was founded by Lara Little, a former fashion buyer with more than 20 years’ experience, after her sister was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to deal with the issue as a side effect of chemotherapy.
The sleepwear collection is made using a high-performance fabric called xirotex that is designed to pull perspiration away from the body 10 times more effectively than other moisture wicking materials.
Lusomé is stocked in 100 retailers in Canada, the United States and Mexico, and now Little is hoping to attract UK stockists.
“We ship internationally and ship a lot to the UK with a tonne of requests for local retail. We are looking for distribution in UK for 2017,” she told Lingerie Insight.
Striking the ideal balance between functionality and fashion, Lusomé offers a range of purposefully-designed styles to cool the body and complement every shape, from airy camisoles to the more timeless nightshirt.
More than 80% of all women experience hot flashes or night sweats that can last for four to five years, with some experiencing the problem for between seven and 10 years.
