British lingerie brand scoops sustainability award at California’s Green Fashion Week

Brighton-based lingerie brand Ayten Gasson has been named the Best Lingerie Label in the world’s first Eluxe Awards, which honours excellence in the sustainable luxury market.

The news was announced during this year’s Green Fashion Week, which took place in Beverly Hills, California last week.

Designed and handmade in Brighton, Ayten Gasson was recognised for “exemplifying local manufacturing and lowering carbon footprint”, as well as supporting the local community and industry.

In addition to working with all natural materials, most notably silk and vegan-friendly peace silk, Ayten Gasson also works with locally-sourced upcycled and traditional Nottingham lace.

Commenting on the award win, Ayten Gasson founder Ayten Roberts said: “We are very proud to receive this prestigious award and aim to continue to create all our pieces in an ethical and sustainable way.”

The Eluxe Awards was organised by Eluxe magazine, a quarterly publication celebrating ethical luxury.

Other winners included beauty brand Luxe Botanics and fashion label Sonas Denim.
