Bustles Boutique, an independent lingerie store located in Southend-on-Sea, is gearing up for the opening of its Lingerie Lounge, a new space built specifically for the requirements of pre- and post-surgery clientele.
The Lingerie Lounge will be a space where ladies can relax in a non clinical environment, confident in Bustles’ bra fitters and industry trained prosthesis fitters to satisfy their lingerie needs.
It will also be offered as a space for the community to use, whether that be for support groups, a meeting place for our local walking club or a haven to promote the health and well-being.
Southend’s Mayor Fay Evans will attend the store at Victoria Shopping Centre on Friday, September 29 to officially open the Lingerie Lounge.
The opening will coincide with the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, organised by Macmillan Cancer Support.
Explaining the inspiration behind the launch, Bustles Boutique co-founder Allison Hawkins said: “Since our opening two years ago, Bustles has seen a significant rise in the number of pre and post surgery ladies looking for an answer to their lingerie and prothesis fitting issues. On average we now see 20 to 25 ladies a month seeking advice, reassurance and the opportunity to restore their feminity.”
Bustles works closely with breast care nurses from its local NHS and Spire hospitals, and supports Macmillan and local breast cancer charities, Bosom Pals and Lady McCadden.
The retailer has also sourced the services of local complementary therapists, wig suppliers, exercise classes and permanent make-up artists so that clients can be informed of all assistance and activities within the community that may be of use to them.
