Britney Spears brought her Intimates brand of lingerie to London yesterday with a launch at the Cafe Royal Hotel.
The singer and entrepreneur was present for the UK launch, and demonstrated she hasn’t lost the knack for using controversy to boost her career when she suggested that the Duchess of Cambridge would be a perfect model for her collections.
"I would love to see Kate in my underwear designs. That would be splendid. I’m going to send her one of every piece. So she’ll have plenty to choose from," she told assembled reporters.
A day later, the Toxic singer was back on stage in Poland’s capital Warsaw to launch the Intimates brand there.
Britney Spears Intimates is currently only on sale at ASOS.com in the UK, but is expected to be more widely distributed after a month of exclusivity at the online retailer. In Continental Europe, the brand is sold in dozens of major multiples and independent lingerie outlets.
Britney Spears Intimates was created back in June this year in collaboration with Danish company CHANGE Lingerie, which sells the range across its chain of European stores.
The first collection includes vintage-inspired bustiers and kimonos, luxury lingerie sets ranging from an A to a J cup, and loungewear featuring jersey camisoles and shorts.
