Fuller-bust lingerie retailer Bravissimo said it has witnessed a huge demand for sports bras as consumers get active.
Speaking to Lingerie Insight about consumer buying behaviours over the last year, Bravissimo product director Laura Martino said the rise of athleisure has driven demand for high-performance sports bras and athletic-inspired lingerie in DD+ sizes.
“Sport is a category which has been growing for us and is also booming across the high street, so it looks like everyone is getting more active,” she said. “Sport is also influencing everyday bras, with sporty details and fabrics used on everyday styles.”
Other lingerie trends Bravissimo expects to witness in 2016 are the continued growth of padded and moulded styles, as well as strapping details and longline bras.
“Moulded and padded bras are everywhere on the high street and within the fuller bust market the choice offered by brands continues to grow, thus we are seeing demand increase in line with this,” said Martino.
“Strapping details and longline styles are here to stay for at least another year. Sadly, the fuller bust market has offered consumers less choice in these on-trend looks than has been available to A-D customers, so we know our customers – especially our G+ customers – are still very much excited by these looks.”
