An independent lingerie retailer based in Bradford has won a prestigious business award.
Owner Janine Dutton was crowned Business Woman of the Year at the Bradford Means Business Awards 2017 at a ceremony on July 6.
Launched by the Telegraph & Argus newspaper seven years ago, the Bradford Mean Business event has become an eagerly anticipated date on business calendars where hard work and dedication is recognised.
Dutton established Belle Lingerie in October 2005. She was working part time, whilst looking after three young children, and selling items on eBay to generate some extra income.
She soon realised that there was a limited availability of lingerie on eBay, so she decided to invest in selling lingerie and swimwear on the site.
Dutton now has her own website, Belle-lingerie.co.uk, and the business has moved into a warehouse unit, which has recently expanded by 3,000 ft2.
Belle Lingerie sells almost 5,000 lingerie and swimwear styles from leading brands such as Freya, Fantasie, Panache, Pour Moi, Gossard in cup sizes A-K.
Speaking after her win Dutton said: “I am honoured to receive the Business Woman of the Year Award and I am incredibly proud of everyone at Belle Lingerie for their hard work in helping make Belle Lingerie the success that it is.
“The Bradford Means Business Awards are great initiative in helping to provide recognition to businesses in Bradford.”
