Bra vending machine goes bust

A bra vending machine installed in a Japanese shopping mall by Une Nana Cool Corp, a subsidiary of Wacoal, has proved to be a commercial flop.

The machine made its debut in Shibuya Parco, Tokyo in August and was later tested at the Tennoji Mio Plaza building in Osaka where it sold just seven bras from November to December 20 at JPY3000 (£17) each, reported the Asahi Shimbun.

An official spokesman from Une Nana Cool commented: “It must be something that takes time to get used to, but I would like women to see how it feels to buy a bra from a vending machine.”

The machine featured a bust-sizing chart and promised to offer wireless bras that are comfortable, easy to fit and affordable.
