Lingerie internet retailer Bare Necessities this week presented The Breast Cancer Research Foundation with a check for over $16,000.
The charitable donation is the result of a fundraising campaign, in which Bare Necessities pledged to make a donation to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation for every bra sold on its website during the month of October.
Bare necssities VP of e-commerce said: "We were delighted to partner with The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Our customers really came through — their overwhelming response to this fundraising effort far exceeded our expectations. We’re so excited about the results that we’re going to continue providing BCRF with our support in the future."
The Breast Cancer Research Foundation president Myra Biblowit added: "The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is honoured that Bare Necessities shares our vision of a world without breast cancer.
This donation will support innovative clinical and translational research at leading medical institutions worldwide that will help lead to prevention and a cure in our lifetime."
This is the ninth consecutive year in which Bare Necessities has supported National Breast Cancer Awareness Month by making donations, based on bra sales, to breast cancer research and awareness organisations.
