Aqua Sphere designs water-repellent swimwear

Italian swimwear brand Aqua Sphere is launching a line of water repellent suits.

This will be the first ever collection of water repellent suits made specifically for fitness and recreational swimmers, according to the brand.

Using a nano-technology-enhanced mesh barrier, the AquaLight collection is designed to retain less water and dries six times faster than traditional fabrics.

Aqua Sphere UK country manager Marin Newton said: "Bringing comfort to swimmers in the water has always been Aqua Sphere’s commitment. Nevertheless, we saw a gap in the market for a product that also addressed swimmers’ comfort outside the pool.”

"Swimmers deserve convenience and portability as well as performance, and we believe we have now met those needs by incorporating advanced materials technology into some of our best-selling silhouettes, opening up the lifestyle advantages normally found only in swimsuits for elite and competitive athletes to recreational and everyday fitness swimmers,” added Newton.

Aqua Sphere is focused on developing products for triathletes and water enthusiast. The brand has worked with elite athletes such as four-time Olympian Amanda Beard and Ironman world champion Faris al Sultan.
