Ann Summers has ramped up its presence in Peterborough with a new store in the city’s main shopping centre.
The lingerie retailer has closed its long-established store on Bridge Street and moved into a 2,500ft2 shopping space in Queensgate shopping centre.
The store is located an uppermall unit previously occupied by outdoor clothing chain Trespass, which closed in February.
This news follows the recent announcement that work has commenced on an £8 million refurbishment programme at Queensgate, designed by architects Benoy.
The extensive changes include new lighting, doors, ceilings and internal finishes, to create a bright, modern and contemporary look as well as increasing the scheme’s green credentials.
Project manager Lendlease said the refurbishment is set to complete in November.
Commenting on the Ann Summers’ move to the centre, Guy Thomas, head of Retail Asset Management at Lendlease, said: “Together with other leading high street and premium names that have joined the scheme in recent months, Queensgate’s brand portfolio continues to set the bar regionally, fuelling demand from leading brands.”
