American Apparel’s newest lingerie model is 62

American Apparel, known for its edgy and unique advertising, has launched a new lingerie campaign fronted by a 62 year-old model.

The retailer posted a picture of New York-native Jacky O’Shaughnessy on its Facebook page today with the accompanying caption, “Sexy has no expiration date.”

In the promotional image, the model wears a bandeau bra and high-waist underwear made of floral lace.

O’Shaughnessy has modelled for AA before, but never in lingerie. In 2012, she fronted the campaign for the retailer’s “Advanced Basics” line.

At the time, she told Fashionista that she was discovered by a talent scout from American Apparel at the age of 60.

"I found a spot on the stoop and sat there smoking in my puffy winter coat and a woman walked by and said, ‘You look so regal sitting there smoking that cigarette.’ I said, ‘Well, I don’t think most people would agree with you these days.’ And she answered, ‘It’s not the cigarette. You’re just beautiful,’" O’Shaughnessy said.
