UK buying group Associated Independent Stores (AIS) has unveiled its lingerie and swimwear trend predictions for SS18.
In an interview with Lingerie Insight, the organiser behind the INDX Intimate Apparel exhibition highlighted the key trends that retailers can expect to see at the forthcoming trade show.
Amanda Partridge, womenswear, accessory and intimate apparel buyer at AIS, said there will continue to be a strong “wellness aesthetic” running through lingerie and loungewear collections this season.
“Buyers will see an emphasis on softness and comfort with ultra-feminine sheers, delicate layering, second-skin neutrals, intricate lace and romantic embroidery,” she added.
In direct contrast to understated lingerie and loungewear trends, swimwear is expected to be louder and more colourful than ever.
“Buyers will find vibrant citrus hues and glamorous decorative prints, alongside exotic tropicals and sporty geometrics in the new SS18 swim collections,” said Partridge.
More than 140 brands have signed up to exhibit at the INDX Intimate Apparel show, which opens at Cranmore Park Exhibition Centre in Solihull on August 6.
Among the brands exhibiting, more than 40 will make their INDX debut.
