Agent Provocateur has appeared in a fake lingerie ad in the November issue of W magazine.
The image, which saw model Karen Elson take part in a lingerie shoot for imaginary brand Tantrum Intimates, was part of a series of similar photos taken to emulate spoof campaigns ads.
Wearing an Agent Provocateur custom suede and satin lingerie set, Elson is depicted with five male models in submissive poses. Each of the nude men sports reddened bottoms – courtesy of makeup artist Pat McGrath – with the intention to ‘create an image that was just plain naughty.’
“Underwear in itself is so sexy,” said stylist Edward Enninful on W magazine’s website. “We wanted to push the idea, to really make it shocking.”
The shoot, which was photographed by Stephen Meisel, produced nine phony ads. Scattered throughout this month’s edition of W magazine, they are meant to represent a Who’s Who of pop culture today.
Personalities who are featured include the likes of Toddlers & Tiaras’ Eden Wood, Formula 1 heiress Petra Ecclestone, model Linda Evangelista, QVC’s Joan Rivers, drag queen Carmen Carrera and film director Joel Schumacher.
