70s sci-fi inspires Raine & Bea AW15 collection

Luxury British label Raine & Bea is combining Swarovski crystals, ostrich feathers, fine silks and steel-boned corsetry in its AW15 couture collection titled Cassiopeia.

The striking styles, which draw inspiration from 1970s science fiction, aim to capture the excitement of the era’s obsession with space travel. “Raine & Bea have created a collection with enduring appeal and celestial desire,” the company says.

Raine & Bea launched in 2013 and saw their first collection stocked by Catwalk Edit, a designer boutique in East London, from the end of last year.

All Raine & Bea’s lingerie collections are limited edition and designed and manufactured in the UK.

The Cassiopeia collection includes bras, waist cinchers, suspender belts, knickers, thongs, a bodysuit and a floor length slip.

Each piece features hand-sewn details in silk, powernet and woven fabrics, with finishing touches in ostrich feathers, Swarovski elements and gold metal D-rings, bra fittings and suspender clips.

Colours include jet black and rouge red, offset with gold and écru tones.

“Raine & Bea’s lingerie has always been designed to be shown off and Cassiopeia certainly offers infinite possibilities. It can be enjoyed for boudoir dressing, as stage wear or as a feature piece for a show-stopping evening outfit,” the designer states.
