10 million LYCRA beauty fabric tags used in a year

Over 10 million LYCRA® beauty fabric tags have been used by brands in an effort to publicise their use of the company’s fibres.

The garment certification programme was first introduced for shaping intimates at Mode City in September 2010.
LYCRA® beauty fabric, INVISTA’s fabric shaping certification programme, launched in 2010. It has since been expanded to cover the areas of hosiery and swimwear, a clear indicator of the company’s commitment towards this area of intimate apparel.

Dogi International, Liebaert, Eurojersey, Carvico, Jersey Lomellina and Penn Textile Solutions are just a few of the textile manufacturers to have produced fabrics within the scheme, while brands using these fabrics include the likes of Anita, Hanro, Maidenform, Body Wrap, Huit, Naturana, Spanx, Triumph, Playtex, Felina, Berlei and Wacoal.

INVISTA Apparel global director of intimate apparel & swimwear Steve Stewart told Lingerie Insight: “Over 10 million tags were used, less than 12 months after we launched the platform.

“That doesn’t include anyone who is custom labelling.”
